1.
Tell me the story of Jesus, Write on my heart every word; Tell me the story most precious, Sweetest that ever was heard. Tell how the angels in chorus, Sang as they welcomed His birth, “Glory to God in the highest! Peace and good tidings to earth.” Refrain: Tell me the story of Jesus, Write on my heart every word; Tell me the story most precious, Sweetest that ever was heard.
2.
1 I love to tell the story of unseen things above, of Jesus and his glory, of Jesus and his love. I love to tell the story because I know 'tis true; it satisfies my longings as nothing else can do. 2 I love to tell the story; 'tis pleasant to repeat what seems, each time I tell it, more wonderfully sweet. I love to tell the story, for some have never heard the message of salvation from God’s own holy Word. Refrain: I love to tell the story; 'twill be my theme in glory to tell the old, old story of Jesus and his love. 3 I love to tell the story, for those who know it best seem hungering and thirsting to hear it, like the rest. And when in scenes of glory, I sing the new, new song, 'twill be the old, old story that I have loved so long. [Refrain]
3.
1. This is my Father's world, and to my listening ears All nature sings, and round me rings the music of the spheres. This is my Father's world: I rest me in the thought Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas, His hand the wonders wrought. 2. This is my Father's world: The birds their carols raise, The morning light, the lily white, declare their Maker's praise. This is my Father's world: He shines in all that's fair; In the rustling grass I hear Him pass, He speaks to me everywhere. Instrumental Interlude 3. This is my Father's world: O let me ne'er forget That though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the Ruler yet. This is my Father's world: The battle is not done. Jesus, who died, shall be satisfied And Earth and Heav’n be one. This is my Father's world: The battle is not done. Jesus, who died, shall be satisfied And Earth and Heav’n be one. Jesus, who died, shall be satisfied And Earth and Heav’n be one.
4.
1. ’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, Just to take Him at His Word; Just to rest upon His promise, And to know, “Thus saith the Lord!” Refrain: Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him! How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er; Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus! Oh, for grace to trust Him more! 2. Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus, Just from sin and self to cease; Just from Jesus simply taking Life and rest, and joy and peace.
5.
Refrain: Just a closer walk with Thee, Grant it, Jesus, is my plea, Daily walking close to Thee, Let it be, dear Lord, let it be. I am weak, but Thou art strong; Jesus, keep me from all wrong; I’ll be satisfied as long As I walk, let me walk close to Thee. Refrain:
6.
There is a place of quiet rest, Near to the heart of God; A place where sin cannot molest, Near to the heart of God. Refrain: O Jesus, blest Redeemer, Sent from the heart of God; Hold us, who wait before Thee, Near to the heart of God.
7.
When morning gilds the skies, my heart awaking cries: “May Jesus Christ be praised!” Alike at work and prayer, To Jesus I repair; “May Jesus Christ be praised!” Be this when day is past, of all my thoughts the last: “May Jesus Christ be praised!” The night becomes as day when from my heart I say: “May Jesus Christ be praised!” Does sadness fill my mind? A comfort here I find: “May Jesus Christ be praised!” Or fades my earthly bliss? My solace still is this: “May Jesus Christ be praised!” Be this, while life is mine, my hymn of praise divine: “May Jesus Christ be praised!” Be this th’eternal song through all the ages long: “May Jesus Christ be praised!” “May Jesus Christ be praised!”
8.
What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer! O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer! Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior, still our refuge-- take it to the Lord in prayer! Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer! In his arms he'll take and shield you; you wilt find a solace there. Take it to the Lord in prayer!
9.
Fairest Lord Jesus, ruler of all nature, O thou of God and man the Son, Thee will I cherish, Thee will I honor, Thou, my soul's glory, joy, and crown. Beautiful Savior! Lord of all the nations! Son of God and Son of Man! Glory and honor, praise, adoration, Now and forevermore be thine.
10.
My heart has no desire to stay Where doubts arise and fears dismay; Though some may dwell where those abound, My prayer, my aim, is higher ground. I want to scale the utmost height And catch a gleam of glory bright; But still I’ll pray till heav’n I’ve found, “Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.” Refrain: Lord, lift me up and let me stand, By faith, on Heaven’s tableland, A higher plane than I have found; Lord, plant my feet on higher ground. I’m pressing on the upward way, New heights I’m gaining every day; Still praying as I’m onward bound, “Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.” Refrain: Lord, lift me up and let me stand, By faith, on Heaven’s tableland, A higher plane than I have found; Lord, lift me up, O, lead me on, This road still leads to Higher Ground!
11.
1. My Jesus, I love thee, I know thou art mine; for thee all the follies of sin I resign; my gracious Redeemer, my Savior art thou; If ever I loved thee, my Jesus, 'tis now. 2. I love thee because thou hast first loved me and purchased my pardon on Calvary's tree; I love thee for wearing the thorns on thy brow; If ever I loved thee, my Jesus, 'tis now. 3. I'll love thee in life, I will love thee in death, and praise thee as long as thou lendest me breath, and say when the deathdew lies cold on my brow: If ever I loved thee, my Jesus, 'tis now. 4. In mansions of glory and endless delight, I'll ever adore thee in heaven so bright; I'll sing with the glittering crown on my brow: If ever I loved thee, my Jesus, 'tis now. If ever I loved thee, my Jesus, 'tis now.
12.
1. There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Immanuel's veins; And sinners, plunged beneath that flood, lose all their guilty stains: Lose all their guilty stains, lose all their guilty stains; And sinners, plunged beneath that flood, lose all their guilty stains. 2. The dying thief rejoiced to see that fountain in his day; And there may I, though vile as he, wash all my sins away: Wash all my sins away, wash all my sins away; And there may I, though vile as he, wash all my sins away. 3. E'er since by faith I saw the stream thy flowing wounds supply, Redeeming love has been my theme, and shall be till I die: And shall be till I die, and shall be till I die; Redeeming love has been my theme, and shall be till I die. 4. When this poor lisping, stamm'ring tongue lies silent in the grave, Then in a nobler, sweeter song I’ll sing Thy pow'r to save: I'll sing Thy pow'r to save, I'll sing Thy pow'r to save; then in a nobler, sweeter song I'll sing Thy pow'r to save.
13.
1. I need thee every hour, most gracious Lord; No tender voice like thine can peace afford. Refrain: I need thee, O I need thee, every hour I need thee. O bless me now, my Savior; I come to thee. 2. I need thee every hour; stay thou nearby; Temptations lose their power when thou art nigh. [Refrain] 3. I need thee every hour, Most Holy One; O make me thine indeed, thou Blessed Son! [Refrain] O bless me now, my Savior; I come to thee.
14.
1. When peace like a river attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll; Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, "It is well, it is well with my soul." Refrain: It is well with my soul; It is well, it is well with my soul. 2. Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come, Let this blest assurance control: That Christ has regarded my helpless estate, and has shed his own blood for my soul. [Refrain] 3. My sin oh, the bliss of this glorious thought! My sin, not in part, but the whole, Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more; Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul! [Refrain] 4. O Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight, The clouds be rolled back as a scroll; The trump shall resound and the Lord shall descend; Even so, it is well with my soul. [Refrain 2x] O, It is well!
15.
Refrain: I love to tell the story; 'twill be my theme in glory to tell the old, old story of Jesus and his love. [2x] Of Jesus and his love.
